Is your data safe from disaster?

Michael Shine, director of Seccom Global, a managed security services provider based in Sydney, Australia, knows firsthand the importance of an effective disaster recovery plan. In October 2013, flooding and a roof collapse left his offices unusable for an entire month. Given his industry, the repercussions could have been severe.

“It would have [affected] our customers and how they are able to operate, which was not the case when our [disaster recovery] solution kicked in,” he says. “I am sure we would have lost most or all of our customers due to the damage that would have been caused to their businesses.” Despite the damages, which totaled more than $220,000, it was business as usual at Seccom Global.

“In fact, many of our clients were completely unaware that such a major disaster occurred.”
